College Scholarship Program
The Foundation
The Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation is an Illinois-based not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1995 by tennis players Tim and Tom Gullikson and their families to assist brain tumor patients and their families in managing the physical, emotional and social challenges presented by the illness. The Foundation's objectives are to:
Provide support to individuals and groups to ease the burden of care for families and enhance the quality of life for patients;
Operate as a clearinghouse for the dissemination of information on family assistance, wellness opportunities and medical research;
Encourage the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle to complement treatment of the illness;
Provide a networking service to link professionals and organizations with patients and their families; and
Award scholarships each year to selected students.
The Scholarships
The Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation College Scholarship Program originated from the generosity of Foundation donors. Women's tennis tour player Corina Morariu initiated the idea with a seed grant in 1999, and Board member and former men's tour player Pete Sampras augmented the grant. The Scholarship fund has subsequently been further augmented by contributions from the many supporters of the Foundation.
